Location for an active purpose
The SafeGuard privacy policy specifies that location tracking is used during an active SOS, monitored check-in, or explicit route sharing. It states that background GPS is not recorded while the app is idle and you are safe.
The policy also states that location history and personal information are not sold, rented, or monetized through advertising. The term “Zero-PII” in the guide refers to this privacy commitment; account and contact information are still collected to provide the service.
A tracking link with boundaries
During an active session, designated contacts can receive a tokenized tracking link. The policy describes these tokens as unique and unpredictable, with access revoked when the user cancels or revokes the link.
The supplied policy states that tracking tokens expire four hours after an incident is disarmed, or immediately upon manual revocation. Treat a live tracking link as sensitive and share it only with the people you intend to grant access.
Your account and deletion options
The privacy policy describes in-app account deletion under Settings → Account & Security → Delete Account. You can also contact the privacy team to request deletion and complete the required verification.
Read the full Privacy Policy for information about collected account details, emergency contacts, incident media, retention, processors, and data rights. This article is an introduction; the policy contains the complete terms.
